Fashion and Self-Love: My Journey to Embracing My Body!

As a fashion designer and someone who’s always been in love with style, you might assume that I’ve always been confident in my appearance. But my path to self-love and body acceptance was far from easy. Like so many others, working in this industry, I have constantly been surrounded by images that defined what the “perfect” body should look like. Designers would keep only small size outfits on the racks, online shopping would have only small size models wearing and posing.

In the early days of my fashion designing career, I struggled with how I saw myself. Even though I was creating clothes for women of all sizes and guiding them which silhouette will enhance their beauty more, I couldn’t find that same appreciation for my own body. It wasn’t until I began experimenting with fashion in a personal way that something clicked for me. Fashion transformed from being just about clothes, it became a way to express myself and eventually a tool for embracing who I truly am.

The game-changer for me was when I decided to design with a purpose: to celebrate all body types, mine included. That’s when I realised the true power of fashion lies in its ability to empower, no matter your size or shape. This new mindset completely changed not only how I design but also how I view myself. My body became a canvas deserving of the same love, care, and creativity I put into each of my designs.

What I’ve learned through this journey is that self-love is so much more than simply liking how you look on the outside. It’s about accepting every part of who you are. Fashion gave me the confidence to love myself unapologetically, and now I aim to inspire others to do the same through my designs at Inchperfect. Today, I design with the belief that every woman deserves to feel confident, beautiful, and worthy in her own skin.

Fashion and self-love are intertwined. When we wear clothes that truly reflect who we are, that confidence naturally shines through. Embracing my body has been one of the most freeing experiences of my life, and I’m proud to create customized clothing that helps other women experience that same liberation. Remember, fashion isn’t just about following trends—it’s about celebrating who you are every single day, exactly as you are.
